Q. Did they ever determine a cause of the fire?
A. They determined the cause to be electrical and accidental.
Q. Are you rebuilding?
A. Yes, we will be rebuilding.
Q. When will you start rebuilding?
A. We are currently in design phase but hope to begin construction during the summer of 2026.
Q. When do you expect to be done?
A. Estimates on rebuild times have ranged from 18 months to 3 years from the fire in February 2026. We hope to complete during 2028.
Q. Will you be rebuilding the entire building?
A. Only the North wing where the main sanctuary and offices were located needs to be completely replaced. The rest of the building will be taken to studs due to smoke and water damage and then rebuilt.
Q. Will the new building look the same?
A. Not exactly. The footprint will remain the same but we are planning adjustments to better use the space for our approach to ministry. We hope to emerge from this with two near identical worship spaces to better facilitate having both English and Spanish services at the same time.
Q. Did the church have insurance?
A. Yes, we maintain insurance and it has been very helpful.
Q. If the church has insurance, why is there a Fire Recovery Fund?
A. Insurance pays to replace what was lost. We are doing everything we can to maximize what can be done with the insurance money, but while we have a blank canvas to rebuild we are hoping to make some updates and improvements to our facility that may not be 100% covered. Also, we are continuing to meet and serve our community. Anything given will go first to rebuilding and improving the campus and secondly to supporting our continued ministry during this time.
Q. Why is the church working on additional expansion plans?
A. We are developing a master plan for our campus so that as we rebuild we can avoid future costly adjustments to our buildings. Our phase 2 plan includes building a large enclosed courtyard that will include an outdoor baptistry and outdoor kitchen area. We envision this courtyard being used for Bible Studies, Fellowships, meals, weddings, and community events. Both Worship Centers are being designed to open into the courtyard so that large events could easily use all three spaces.
